Time to make some decisions

The first thing you need to do if you want to invest in Costa Rican Real Estate is to decide what kind of property you want, if you want a place near the beach, the mountains or the city. Once you have figured that out, you will need to think about the weather: if you want a place hot and humid you can go to the Central and South Pacific, if you want hot and dry you are thinking maybe in Guanacaste and some areas in the Pacific and if you want a cooler weather you are thinking about getting closer to the Central Valley.

Once you have decided where to invest, decide what to invest in. If you want to find a plot of land and then make a construction on it, be ready to be to spend some time between permits and the construction process. There are many things you will need to consider, such as finding a good architect or civil engineer who helps you not only with the construction plans, but also with the permits. Be advised that to start a construction in Costa Rica you will need permits from several institutions and it always requires time and paperwork. This is doable with the proper assistance of a professional who can guide you and provide his expertise in helping you get the job done in the shortest time possible and just the way you want it.

If you decide to buy an already built house or condo, it will give you the advantage of not worrying about anything that has to do with permits, construction contracts and time issues.
