Can you own property in Costa
Rica being a foreigner?:
Unlike other countries, Costa Rican law makes no substantial
differences between its citizens and foreigners regarding
the rights of ownership of any kind. This means that it
doesn’t matter where you come from, if you have a valid
passport with you, you can own a car, a boat or a piece of
land just like any “Tico”.
Nevertheless, there are some restrictions that apply when
investing, especially regarding the nature of the specific
property of your interest, since there are different kinds
of land according to law.
